Some of you know that my wife (Lady_Juke) and myself have been running the KChost Radio Network for some years now. We produce and develop radio shows like The Anvil of Crom, The NightWatch Show, Riff Revolution and the Wild Wild Westmar Show and stream music 24x7.
The beginning of this year we launched the NightWatch Network that broadcast all paranormal content and play old 40's/50's radio shows to fill the gaps. We have also taken in some other stations as part of the KChost Radio Network.

NOW...

For the last few years I have acquired a lot of country music (yes I have the license) and made a lot of friends with some local and national country acts. I have been toying around with the idea of starting a Country Station and was wondering what everyone else thinks about it? Like all our stations we will stream in 128K CD Quality and support up to 300 listeners. We could also air any original music from local acts.

I have been thinking about this country station a bit more and after last night’s jam I think I am going to go for it but I am only going to play music from the 1970's and older. Mostly the Outlaw and old standard country, and I hope with the help of some of you older forgotten country. This will also include some recording from JCMPC and other local country bands. My thinking is that if you want to hear new country you can tune into any local country AM/FM Station.

I'd run the playlist right up until 1991. That way you capture Clint Black's sophomore release, Patty Loveless, Ricky Van Shelton, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam, and Shenandoah. But leave out Travis Tritt and and Garth Brooks' debut releases (because that's the starting point for new country).

Just my two cents.

There is only about 100 songs or so in the rotation at this time...

What I need from everyone are music suggestion!

You can message them here or post a reply to this thread.

Please include:

Artist Name (or Band)
Song Title
Release Year (about)

If you know:
Record Label and ASCAP/BMI Status let me know.

I will try my best to find the music and get it on the station...

I want to keep the music pre 1980's....So I am after the real classic Country...
